Solar Power
Hurricane Helene showed us how vulnerable we are to power loss. By going solar, we’re building a more resilient farm while reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and moving toward clean, sustainable energy.
In order to achieve this, we’re collaborating with the following organizations to help install our solar panel system for the 2026 season:
USDA Rural Development “REAP” (Rural Energy for America Program) - Cost share grant hoping to cover 30% of project cost
Sugar Hollow Solar - Installation and project planning
Tobacco Trust Fund - Grant provider, $10,000 upon completion

The total project will run $23,355. We’re hoping to raise $12,000 to finance the projects costs not covered through grant funds.

If funded, we believe construction will begin in spring of 26’ and be completed within one or two weeks.
